This page provides information for new members of the Albuquerque Scale Modelers (ASM) and anyone interested in finding out more about the club before becoming a member of ASM. Click on the Bold Type in each paragraph to get to that website page.

The ASM By Laws govern the operations of the ASM club. This is a “must read” for all new members. The By Laws contain information on ASM’s policies and objectives, membership categories, Executive Board positions and responsibilities, the election process, conduct of meetings, guests at meetings, use of funds, dissolution of funds, and making amendments to the By Laws.

The Contest Guidelines are also a “must read” in order to understand how ASM is organized and operates. This page provides information on how the club’s four divisions of Junior, Basic, Intermediate, and Master modelers are organized, and the basics on ASM contests. This includes info on the Modeler of the Year and Model of the Year competitions, how points are awarded, how the yearly contest schedule is put together, how many models can be entered in contests, the difference between Theme (Points) contests and Special (Non-Points) contests, etc.

The Contest Schedule contains the year’s contest schedule in a month by month format. It includes the meeting dates, contest subjects/topics and model eligibility criteria, and special meeting subjects such as workshops or guest speakers. Contest information is updated as necessary, and annotated with red asterisks or other marks to show where information has changed. This page also contains details on the year’s Sponsored Contests, including subjects and contest “rules of engagement” (ROE). Each sponsored contest has an “As Of” date so that members can keep apprised of the latest info. Members have an opportunity during each year's Executive Board election to make suggestion on the following year's contest schedule by making inputs on the ballots.

The Newsletter is published each month and either mailed out as a hard copy or E-mailed to members in an Adobe pdf file format. The Newsletter contains articles on club news by the E-Board and ASM members such as kit reviews and book reviews, the contest results from ASM contests, points standings, and a mini-version of the contest schedule. Each month’s Newsletter will be added to the collection on the ASM website with the most current on top.

The ASM Website is a great source of information on ASM, as it contains both current and past doings of the club. Check the website often - it will be the best source to find out latest updated information on ASM meetings and changes to the contest schedule.
