Question 1 (Q1). Do I need a visa to enter New Mexico?
Answer 1 (A1). That depends upon where you are entering from. ASM will be happy to sell you a New Mexico visa if you are entering from any of the other states of the USA. We will also stamp your passport. Please inquire at the Chile Con Registration Desk.
Q2. Do I need to exchange money after entering New Mexico?
A2. ASM will be happy to exchange American currency for New Mexico currency. Please inquire at the Chile Con Registration Desk.
Q3. Will I need to take an Alien DNA Test when I register for Chile Con?
A3. Attendees from Roswell, New Mexico will be required to take an Alien DNA Test. All attendees entering models in the Science Fiction or Real Space categories will also be required to take an Alien DNA Test to preclude unfair advantages. Awards will not be presented in these categories until test results have been processed.
Q4. Will my models melt if I leave them in my car?
A4. That depends upon how hot it will be in June. The temperature in your car, with the windows rolled-up, will be much hotter than the ambient temperature so we suggest that you bring your models inside ASAP. Also suggest that you do not leave your dog inside your car to guard your models.
Q5. Is there a discount for International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) members?

Q6. Do I have to be a member of IPMS to enter models in the contest, or to attend the convention?
A6. No, you do not to be a member of IPMS to enter models in the contest, or to attend the convention. However, only IPMS members get the discount.
Q7. Is there a discount for early registration?
A7. Yes - See the Registration Form for detailed information. Cut-off date for early registration is May 27th.
Q8. Can I register my models on-line ahead of time?
A8. No, but there are two forms available that you can fill out ahead of the convention and bring with you to speed up the registration process. Click on the "Registration & Model Forms" button to download those files. Details on how to use the forms are included. These forms will need to be cropped/trimmed (ahead of time) to match the official forms with model entry numbers when you register at the convention.
Q9. Can I print-out a registration form and fill it out before I get to Chile Con?
A9. Yes, registration forms are available in PDF format on the Chile Con website. Click here to visit the Registration Form page. Filling the forms out ahead of arrival at the convention is encouraged.
Q10. Is there a room deal with the Marriott Pyramid Hotel hosting Chile Con?
A10. Yes, details are available on the Chile Con website. Mention "attending Chile Con" when you make your reservation. Click here to visit the Hotel Info page.
Q11. Which door to the hotel is the closest to the Registration Desk and Model Gallery for dropping off my model entries?
A11. The front lobby of the hotel (on south side of building) is the closest to the model contest area.
Q12. What time does the model registration closeout and judging begin on Saturday?
A12. Model registration ends at 12:00 Noon, and judging begins at 2:00 PM.
Q13. Are there on-going events each day during the convention?
A13. Yes - there will be some demonstrations and a Make-N-Take, and a military vehicle display in the hotel parking lot provided by the New Mexico Military Vehicle Preservation Association. See Schedule page for further details.
Q14. Where can I find a schedule of events, and will updates be posted?
A14. The schedule of events is posted on the Chile Con 4 website (see Schedule page ) and is also available on the Chile Con Flyer. The schedule will be updated as changes become known. A schedule will be posted in the Chile Con area during the convention, and updated as necessary.
Q15. What time can I pick up my models (and hopefully my pile of awards) from the Contest Room on Saturday night?
A15. Models can be picked up after at 10:00 PM after the awards presentation on Saturday night.
