Listed below are the ASM Virtual Contests conducted in 2021

2021 Virtual Contest # 1 was :

"Sci-Fi, Real Space, Science & Fantasy"

"Staff Picks" Awards in Each Division

ROE for "Sci-Fi, Real Space, Science & Fantasy"

1. The contest subject is "Sci-Fi/Real Space/Fantasy/Science."  This is a virtual Special Contest and not a points contest.

 2. Entries can be any scale, subject, or era as long as it still fits within the theme.

3. There is a max of 1 entry per member.

4. Entries should be new builds.

5. Entries need to be submitted by Jan 9 at midnight.

6. Please include kit manufacturer and scale when you submit your entry, along with your division level (Basic, Intermediate, etc.), and any additional info that you would like the judges to be aware of, (e.g. conversions, scratch-built parts, special techniques used etc.)

7. Please submit a maximum of 4 pictures of your entry to abqscalemodelers@outlook.com and please try to limit the size so that they are at 2 or 3 Mb each at most, if possible. As a suggestion, you could take a front view, rear view, left or right view and a plan view from above, but we'll leave the final decision to you.

 8. The Contest Director will lead the judging with an appointed team to judge the entries.

October - November 2020 Contest:

It is now an

"Open" Contest"

With entries from October 6th to November 7th

Open to any kit, any subject, any scale

The "Open" contest includes "Battle of Britain" builds, the previous contest theme.

   

Battle of Britain Day - September 15th, 1940

            

Any model subject from July to October 1940.

Airplane, figure, tank, ship or diorama

1. Open to any kit, any subject, any scale.  This is a virtual Special Contest and not a points contest. 

2. See ROE listed below for additional requirements.

ROE for "Battle of Britain"

Virtual Special (Non-Points) Contest # 4 :

1. The contest subject is "Battle of Britain."  This is a virtual Special Contest and not a points contest. 

2.  Entries can be any scale or subject involved in the Battle of Britain from July to October 1940 - airplane, figure, tank, ship, or diorama.    

3. There is a max of 1 entry per member.

4. Entries should be new builds. 

5.  Entries need to be submitted by October 2nd

 6. Please include kit manufacturer and scale when you submit your entry, along with your division level (Basic, Intermediate, etc.), and any additional info that you would like the judges to be aware of e.g. conversions, scratch-built parts, special techniques used etc.

 7. Please submit a maximum of 4 pictures of your entry to abqscalemodelers@outlook.com and please try to limit the size so that they are 2 or 3 Mb each at most, if possible please. ROE for "Two or Three"

Virtual Special (Non-Points) Contest #3:

1. The contest subject is "Two or Three".  This is a virtual Special Contest and not a points contest. 

2.  Entries can be any scale, era, or subject that was/is known for having 2 or 3 ... wheels, wings, main guns, etc. See Contest Schedule for further details.  In most cases, Sci-Fi subjects not included.  

3. There is a max of 1 entry per member.

4. Entries should be new builds. 

5.  Entries can be submitted any time between July 27th and September 4th

 6. Please include kit manufacturer and scale when you submit your entry, along with your division level (Basic, Intermediate, etc.), and any additional info that you would like the judges to be aware of e.g. conversions, scratch-built parts, special techniques used etc.

"The Korean War"

ROE for "The Korean War"

Virtual Special (Non-Points) Contest #2:

1. The contest subject is "The Korean War" 1950-1953.  This is a virtual Special Contest and not a points contest. 

2.  Entries can be any subject from either side covering the 1950-1953 period in Korea. The war was not just the US versus North Korea/China. Russian MiG's and pilots were also involved and UN forces included the US, UK, Canadian, Aussie, Greek, Turkish, Belgians, and others.

3. There is a max of 1 entry per member.

4. Entries should be new builds. 

5.  Entries can be submitted any time between June 20th and July 4th.  The July 4th cut-off is absolute, so make sure they are sent by 11:59 PM on the 4th July or we won't be able to consider them.

 6. Kit manufacturer and scale will be required information so please include those when you submit your entry, along with your division level (Basic, Intermediate, etc.), and any additional info that you would like the judges to be aware of e.g. conversions, scratch-built parts, special techniques used etc.

 7. Please submit a maximum of 4 pictures of your entry to abqscalemodelers@outlook.com and please try to limit the size so that they are 2 or 3 Mb each at most, if possible please. 10. If it has been determined that a July meeting will actually take place, members will be notified and the models can be brought to the meeting.

Virtual Contest # 1

May Contest

"The Desert"

ROE for "The Desert" Virtual Special (Non-Points) Contest #1:

1. The contest theme is "The Desert" - any planet, any desert, any scale, any time period, as long as it's sandy.

2. There shall be a limit of 1 entry per member.

3. Please ensure that your entries are new builds - they have been recently completed and have not been entered into any ASM competition before.

4. Entrants can send a maximum of 3 pictures of their entry to abqscalemodelers@outlook.com

5. Each picture shall be no higher than 1024 x 768 resolution. 

6. Please ensure that you give us the usual info e.g. name, member number, kit, scale etc. and what division you are entering when sending in your pics.

7. The contest will run from April 8th to May 8th and any entries received after May 8th will not be considered.

8. Entries will be anonymized and judged by the ASM Contest Director with a team of assistants as appointed by him.

9. Winners will have images of their models in the June ASM Newsletter and all entrants will have a picture of their model placed on the ASM Website ASAP after the contest ends.

10.Winners will receive awards at the next possible ASM club meeting.
