Modeling With Vegetables

I found this pic on the web showing excellent use of cauliflower to simulate smoke in a space shuttle launch.  Is very realistic looking. 

I used some real snow pea pods in my “UFO Fly-In at Roswell” diorama model at Chile Con 2 to simulate the pods from the “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” movie.  See pics.  Very realistic-looking for the pods, but the downside is that you need to go to the grocery store every time you want to put the diorama on display.  I need to go on-line to see if I can find any realistic-looking plastic pea pods. 

I think that all model contests should include a “Best Use of Real Vegetables” award.
